The Language Service Team supports translation and bridges the language gaps across the enterprise. Our brand-new Translation Technology platform empowers colleagues, partners, and translation project managers across all functions to communicate, supervise and find major efficiencies in all cross-language activities. The Language Service has been designed to enable all functions and business areas to overcome communication barriers.
Focus & Challenge
The Business Analyst – Translation Technologist is responsible for enabling and supporting translation and terminology activities on a procedural and technical level throughout the Organization; supply and maintain translation and terminology management systems and applications; enable coordinated translation and localisation activities for all organizational functions that have adopted or will adopt the AZ Language Service; enable extensive exploitation of the Translation Management System and neural machine translation by the translation areas.
You will work multi-functionally across teams of business partners, developers, offshore support teams and vendors to optimally deliver continuous improvement and value. A drive and passion for providing first-class linguistic services for end-users and partners and achieving excellence is key to the role. You will be a self-starter with proven organisational skills, expertise in ITIL service management and people management. You will organize cross-business area groups to bring detailed changes into a forum on a weekly basis. As part of running this process they will be expected to look for improvements to the process and materials used in said process, to put forward the recommendations and implement them where agreed. Accountabilities:
End-to-end business support. Translation Service Request management. Focal point contact for the Language Service third line support group.
Point of liaison with vendor support organisations, such as our TMS and cognitive services (AI vendors). Customer concern of technical issues with their platforms to them and follow-up until resolution.
Focal point between translation customers and platform developers.
Responsibilities:
Bring together and processing translation requests and business cases from across the business.
Following up on the Service Demand process and enabling partner business functions to benefit from the full value of the technology.
Analysing Translation Service demand and executing the best strategy to bring the translation use case to completion.
Supporting translation suppliers, consultants, co-ordinate meetings and capture challenges, issues and blockers and action them pro-actively or during planned calls.
Delivery of end-to-end adoption, project support, user experience and customer satisfaction.
Identifying and delivering continuous service improvement in the Platform and AZ Language Services
Driving quality improvement of the AZ Translate platform from a linguistic perspective.
Maintain translation memories, drive audits, protect the privacy and confidentiality of the data.
Drive Machine Learning initiatives using translation memories and other paired file strategies to train AstraZeneca’s private AIs.
Help functions apply new ways of working for translation projects using the AZ Language Service SOPs
Assist the Service Owner with tasks around Security Assessments and Data Privacy assessments and other requirements to provide a safe and secure Translation Solution.
Lead and maintain the required training and learning materials for the AZ Translate platform and manage customer expectations around training.
Ensuring all aspects of the AZ Language Service are delivered and continually improved.
Continually review and drive supplier performance, ensuring contracts are fit for purpose.
Maintain and apply knowledge of technologies and external industry trends/changes.
RequKnowledge, Skills & Experience
Degree in Translation/Interpreting or Linguistics or similar
Experience within in the language/translation/interpreting industry, including CAT tools, Translation Management Systems and AI engines.
Demonstrable understanding of Translation Technology, Translation Management Systems and Linguistic AI.
Ability to interpret & communicate technical information into business language
Partner relationship management
Customer centric approach with customer satisfaction as a focus
Strong written & verbal interpersonal skills
Fluently bilingual (or multilingual) and with provable understanding of challenges in a global, multilingual organisation
Ability to work independently
Dedicated & results-oriented
