Civil Engineer – Land Development

At Aurecon, we are optimistic about the future. We are thinkers, solvers and collaborators who work with our clients to deliver the infrastructure and assets that strengthen communities and create a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Civil Engineer in our Land Development team based in Melbourne, you’ll work across a diverse portfolio of land development and civil infrastructure projects, contributing to the design and delivery of practical solutions for our clients and communities.

You’ll work alongside experienced civil engineers and multidisciplinary teams across projects including industrial subdivisions, roads, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer infrastructure, municipal works and civil site developments.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer who has established technical capability in the Victorian land development market and is looking to continue developing their project, client and leadership experience. You’ll:

  • Design and deliver land development and civil infrastructure projects across Victoria.
  • Prepare and coordinate civil engineering designs, drawings and documentation.
  • Work across roads, car parks, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer reticulation, subdivisions and civil site works.
  • Use 12D and AutoCAD to develop high-quality civil designs and documentation.
  • Work with Victorian councils, service authorities, DTP, clients, subconsultants and contractors throughout the design and approvals process.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and ensure designs meet relevant Australian and Victorian standards and authority requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes.
  • Support and mentor less experienced engineers as your experience develops.
  • Continue building your client-facing and project leadership capability, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as your career progresses.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with solid local land development experience who understands both the technical design environment and what it takes to successfully deliver projects in Victoria. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • Approximately 4+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, ideally gained within the Victorian land development or civil infrastructure market.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and documentation of civil infrastructure to Australian and Victorian standards.
  • Strong design experience across roads, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer services and civil site works.
  • Experience working with Victorian councils, service authorities and DTP requirements and approval processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of 12D and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills and experience liaising directly with clients, subconsultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Part A & B Water Supply and Sewer Design Assurance Scheme Accreditation Key Personnel (MRWA) would be advantageous.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an Australian Government security clearance if required for future project work.

Beyond technical capability, we’re interested in someone who wants to keep progressing. You’ll have opportunities to build your client relationships, take greater ownership of project delivery and develop towards future team and business leadership opportunities.

How we support your growth

We believe your career should be a rewarding adventure. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists, contribute to diverse infrastructure projects and continue developing your technical, project and client leadership capabilities.

At Aurecon, we support flexible ways of working, ongoing professional development and an inclusive environment where different perspectives and experiences are valued.
