What you’ll do

As a Lead Contaminated Land Scientist/Engineer in our Water, Environment & Land Team based in Queensland, you’ll take on a broad range of contaminated land projects, including desktop investigation, detailed site investigation and management/remediation across a wide range of markets, helping shape solutions for our clients and communities. You’ll work with people across disciplines, test ideas and find better ways to solve complex problems.

  • Design, manage and deliver large contaminated land projects
  • Coordinate and lead fieldwork campaigns including premobilisation and safety planning, soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, supervision of drilling, test pitting and groundwater well installation
  • Prepare high quality assessments and technical reports to ASC NEPM requirements and exceptional technical and editorial standard, while working collaboratively with our team to meet client expectations
  • Proposal and project management of contaminated land projects
  • Advise clients on complex challenges, shaping strategy and guiding decision-making
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and deliver integrated outcomes
  • Deliver clear, practical advice that enables confident decision-making
  • Contribute to sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions
  • Apply data, analysis and critical thinking to improve outcomes

Your experience and expertise

  • Relevant qualifications in environmental engineering or science and experience in contaminated land
  • Experience delivering contaminated land and/or groundwater investigations, management and/or remediation projects and achieving impactful outcomes
  • A strong professional work ethic and commitment to health and safety for yourself, your team, subcontractors and clients
    • Understanding of the Environmental Protection Act 1994
and National Environment Protection Measures and other current and emerging Queensland/National legislation, standards and guidelines for contaminated land
  • Australian citizenship, or ability to obtain citizenship in future is highly desired
  • Current open driver’s license
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to see the big picture, challenge assumptions and bring diverse thinking

How we support your growth
Engineering possibilities for your career means having room to shape what comes next. You bring your ambition and commitment to lifelong learning, and we provide the foundation and development to help you turn your aspirations into achievement.

The Aurecon Way guides how we think, act and work together, what we value and how we invest in our people. You’ll be part of a culture built on clear expectations, optimism and determination, where you can feel safe, included and empowered to speak openly, think boldly and deliver brilliantly.
