Description

  • The Role Perform maintenance tasks both breakdown and servicing on fixed plant. Assist with the ordering of parts by liaising with local service providers and the Aurelia Metals own store system while ensuring a safe and productive work environment is maintained at all times. The position is responsible for the safe and efficient completion of mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance and project work as required at the Federation mine site, including but not limited to the Processing Plant, Underground Mine fixed plant, Aurelia mobile equipment, Camp Accommodation and other associated equipment and ancillary services. The role also requires being available on-call after hours whilst at work as per the mechanical call-out roster. They shall adhere to all relevant NSW workplace regulations and follow company policies and procedures.
    • Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising production
    • Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing/manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures
    • Maintain cleanliness of shops and work areas
    • To be a part of the callout teams
    • Maintain cost focus and reduce wastage of materials
    • Provide input into planned maintenance tasks
    • Assist in development of safe work procedures and JSA’s
    • Work as an effective member of the Maintenance team, including contributing to a positive team environment and supporting the training and development of apprentices.
    • Complete Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) generated work orders to a high standard.
    • Regularly close out work orders completed by you with correct and accurate data and time keeping.
    • Ensure returned completed work orders contain all relevant information and that information is captured in the CMMS.
    • Raise work orders for all work found by yourself and liaise with your Supervisor on the best way to manage identified work.
    • Keep your Supervisor up to speed on all work conducted and any changes that affect the planned work schedules.
    • Contributing to achieving target plant availability by conducting good quality work and investigating every opportunity to improve maintenance performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Work effectively with Operations, Mining, Metallurgy and other Maintenance personnel to determine work priorities, plan work and ensure all aspects of site works are understood and communicated.
    • Willingness to work outside your field of trade in the event of necessity through shortage of labour or breakdown work.
    • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all reporting requirements within agreed timeframes.
    • Positively contributing towards the development and implementation of maintenance improvement initiatives.
    • Willingness to travel and work underground as required.
    • Perform on-call duties whilst at work as per the mechanical on-call roster.
    • Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor
    About You
    • Mechanical Trade Certificate
    • Current NSW ‘C’ class licence or equivalent
    • Demonstrated experience utilising trade qualifications in a mining environment
    • Developed interpersonal skills and strong customer focus
    • Ability to communicate with all levels across operation and external parties
    • Demonstrated experience in fixed plant assets, including mill processing plant and equipment and associated components
    • Ability to monitor and maintain fixed plant equipment costs
    • Demonstrated ability to ensure safety of maintenance personnel associated with fixed plant equipment maintenance.
