The Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent this role will see you help optimise extraction at the Peak Gold Mine through safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations.
On a daily basis you will work closely with operational and planning teams applying leading practice geotechnical and mining techniques in the extraction and backfilling of the orebodies.
This role is open to a FIFO 8/6 roster from Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne or a residential position on a 5/2 4/3 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake weekly inspections of underground workplaces with respect to ground conditions and ground support
- Working within the technical services team to evaluate mining designs and schedules
- Assist mine planning by producing stope stability assessments and cable bolt support designs
- Ensuring compliance with the site’s Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP) and ensuring the GCMP is updated and reviewed annually in line with NSW Mines Regulations and Australian standards.
- Bachelor of Engineering – Geotechnical or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with sublevel methods using mechanised equipment
- Experience in the utilisation of mining software including Deswik, Map3d and Unwedge
- Good interpersonal skills and business focus
- Proven ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation.
