With our Great Cobar project planned to commence development imminently, we have an opportunity for a driven Project and Ventilation Engineer, who values growth and is keen to contribute to a dynamic and uplifting work culture. About the role:
The Project & Ventilation Engineer will provide engineering support in the delivery of the Great Cobar Project. If you’re looking to grow your career, have had worked in a project engineering capacity, been exposed to scheduling and completed your underground time – this role could be your next step.
Roster: 8/6 DIDO (including allowance) or FIFO opportunity.
Location: Cobar region.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating safe and effective mine plans for the operations team.
- Tracking and monitoring operational performance to inform planning and decision making.
- Assist planning team with ventilation strategies for existing and future mine areas.
- Conducting primary and secondary ventilation surveys to ensure safe and effective mining, including development of plans for improvement and rectification of any identified issues.
- Aid in the implementation of key pieces of infrastructure to aid in the delivery of the project.
- Creating and reviewing weekly schedules for safe and effective project implementation.
About You:
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mining or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience relevant mining engineering experience, in an underground environment and completion of underground time.
- Unencumbered C class drivers licence.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively problem solve.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in the utilisation of mining software – Deswik CAD, Deswik UGDB, and Deswik Sched and Ventsim.
- Ability to work an 8/6 roster, 12-hour days.
- Commitment to working safely, and living our Values to promote a positive, continuous improvement culture.
- Successful completion of pre-employment checks including medical, drug & alcohol testing, Australia police checks and qualification checks.
