Aurelia Metals is an Australian gold and base metals mining and exploration company. We own and operate two underground mines and a processing facility in the Cobar Basin in New South Wales (NSW) and have an enviable portfolio of organic growth prospects in the region.
Our Peak operation comprises several underground polymetallic (gold, lead, zinc, copper, and silver) ore bodies and an 800 thousand tonnes per annum (ktpa) processing plant. The site is in the northern Cobar Basin in western NSW, a short distance from the historical town of Cobar.
Our Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis Lead. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role plays a key role in driving financial and economic analysis that supports business planning, growth, and technical initiatives across the Company.
Your experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally within the resources sector, will support the delivery of accurate, timely insights for business decisions and projects. A detail-oriented approach, ability to work across varied tasks, and strong communication skills will see you succeed in this role. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including the executive team, to deliver data-driven outcomes.
Roster: Monday to Friday (2 WFH)
Location: Brisbane CBD
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Group planning cycle, including life of mine plans, annual budgets, and forecasts
- Develop and maintain robust Life of Mine Plan models, supporting sites with their own models
- Consolidate operational submissions and present outcomes to the leadership team and Board
- Conduct detailed analysis and scenario modelling on group performance, cash flow, and commodity price sensitivities
- Manage the Group planning system (Workday Adaptive), including ongoing development and enhancements
- Coordinate risk assessments at each stage of the planning cycle
- Oversee capital governance, including approval processes and intra-year forecasts
- Deliver financial analysis (variance, trends, benchmarking) to support reporting and cost-saving opportunities
- Manage the group cash flow model and provide regular updates to leadership, Board, and financiers
- Provide financial modelling and analysis for ad hoc projects, supporting Technical Services and Growth teams
- Support major contract tenders through financial evaluation
- Monitor external analyst coverage and identify opportunities to align market forecasts with Aurelia’s messaging
Qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualification in business, finance, or a mining-related discipline
- Proven experience in corporate planning, financial modelling, and investment analysis within complex environments
- Strong understanding of mining processes and value chain interdependencies
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Familiarity with Power BI, QlikView, or Workday Adaptive (desirable)
