As part of our Consulting team, the Payroll Lead – Customer Success provides operational leadership to the Customer Success Advisory team, ensuring consistent, high quality advisory delivery that drives exceptional customer outcomes.

As Payroll Lead – Customer Success, you will shape and develop a brand-new Customer Success Advisory function. You’ll lead a high‑performing team to deliver meaningful customer outcomes and uplift Aurion’s consulting capability. Working closely with Customer Journey and Consulting teams, you’ll champion advisory value and help create a cohesive, modern consulting experience.

Responsibilities

As a Payroll Lead – Customer Success, you’ll partner with customers to help them confidently use Aurion and achieve strong payroll and HR outcomes. You’ll provide structured advice, coaching, and insights that support both immediate needs and long-term success.

This role is ideal for someone who loves solving problems, enjoys engaging with customers, and is passionate about driving better outcomes across payroll and HR functions.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Advisors to build capability, confidence, and a strong customer outcomes mindset.

  • Oversee day-to-day advisory delivery, ensuring quality, compliance and SLA achievement.

  • Act as an escalation point for Advisors, customers, and internal teams, resolving complex or high impact issues with urgency and clarity.

  • Define and maintain advisory standards, frameworks, and methodologies to ensure consistent practice.

  • Align resources, manage performance, and support professional development through feedback, coaching, and structured learning pathways.

  • Foster a collaborative, high performance culture grounded in accountability, continuous learning, and customer value.

  • Communicate effectively across teams to support change initiatives, maintain transparency, and advocate for the Customer Success function.

Skills and experience

We are looking for a highly motivated team member who combines payroll and HR credibility with strong leadership skills, and who enjoys helping others succeed through guidance and coaching, along with:

  • Advanced payroll and HR knowledge with experience delivering complex advisory services using best practice solutions.

  • Experience managing service delivery, SLAs, and compliance with quality and legislative standards.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high performing teams with a strong customer outcomes focus.

  • Skilled in resolving complex issues promptly and a trusted escalation point for both customers and internal teams.

  • Understanding of consulting financials, utilisation, and operational metrics relevant to advisory functions.
