About the Role

Ausgrid is recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager ready to lead complex, high-impact projects across our renewable space. We’re looking for a driven professional to take ownership of major initiatives from large-scale infrastructure programs to enterprise transformation projects delivering outcomes that matter.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end project delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope and budget while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement.

You will have the autonomy to drive delivery while partnering with senior leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.

This position reports to the Project Director based in our Haymarket, Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale capital, infrastructure, or transformation projects.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Drive high-performing project teams across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage risk, governance, and compliance, ensuring smooth delivery across all phases.
  • Oversee vendor procurement and contract management.
  • Deliver clear and concise project reporting to senior executives.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across business units, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Ensure successful handover to business operations and continuous improvement post-delivery.

About You

  • Proven experience (7+ years) delivering complex projects end-to-end.
  • Strong expertise in project planning tools (MS Project, Jira, P6, etc.)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence at a senior level.
  • Strong commercial acumen, risk management, and problem-solving capability
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum certifications
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or regulated environments
  • Exposure to business transformation, IT systems, or process improvement
