See yourself working here

This is a newly created leadership role and a unique opportunity to shape the future of Technology Architecture at Ausgrid.

As Manager, Technology Architecture Practice, you will lead the transformation of our architecture function from a decentralised operating model to a centrally led, integrated practice. Bringing together domain and solution architects across technology, cyber security, infrastructure, networks and operational technology (OT), you will establish the standards, governance, capability and culture required to support a modern, critical infrastructure organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Technology & Cyber Security, you will lead a highly skilled team while providing authoritative technical leadership across complex technology and operational environments. Success in this role will come from your ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical credibility, influence senior stakeholders, and drive the evolution of the architecture function into a cohesive, enterprise-wide practice that delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes.

We are looking for a respected technical leader who has built their career in utilities, critical infrastructure, heavy industry, resources, transport, manufacturing, energy, or similarly complex operational environments and can engage credibly with engineers, technology specialists and operational leaders alike.

What you bring to the role

Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

Essential

  • Proven experience leading an architecture practice or function within a large, complex technology, utilities, critical infrastructure or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong technical architecture expertise across infrastructure, networks, enterprise services, operational technology (OT) and cyber security.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing technical teams, fostering alignment, collaboration and accountability.
  • Deep understanding of architecture governance, including roadmaps, standards, solution design, assurance and technology decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a business-focused way.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Architecture certification such as TOGAF, SABSA or equivalent industry-recognised accreditation.
  • Experience within utilities, energy, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated operational environments.
  • Exposure to OT, SCADA, industrial control systems, IT/OT integration and relevant cyber security frameworks.
