Energise your career working in a multi-disciplinary team of 5, reporting to our Head of Climate Resilience. This opening, alongside the wider team will play a pivotal part in ensuring the network can continue to service our communities when subjected to the disruptive climatic events of the future. Sitting within our Asset Management group, you will get the opportunity to cross over and collaborate regularly with exceptional leaders and expert peers within the energy space.
Your new role
This newly created opportunity will be accountable for the technical leadership of Ausgrid’s technical climate adaptation programs including; risk forecasting, disclosures and technical adaptation. You will be a trusted source of climate change science within Ausgrid, by keeping abreast of climate change updates and working collaboratively with external advisors and scientific organisations to build the body of knowledge of historical, current and forecasted climate change risks.
You will monitor changing regulatory, stakeholder and customer expectations to address climate change impacts and where necessary, uplift policies, procedures and governance processes to address climate perils. You will project manage the technical programs including the management of risks, issues, resources and constraints and lead climate change risk assessments and modelling. You will interpret complex and ambiguous information in ways the organisation can easily understand, leading new ways to model the impact of climate scenarios and coordinate the development of adaptation solutions through design, implementation and testing of solutions.

Energise us through your skills and qualifications in:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science or equivalent with experience in asset management practices
- Expertise in asset and community resilience
- Expertise in conducting climate risk assessments and modelling
- Program Management, including excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise and deliver outcomes in a timely manner
- Ability to break down complex problems into practical, actionable steps
- Ability to lead using influence, including change management expertise and mentoring approaches
- Extensive knowledge of utility businesses and associated regulatory frameworks
- Established negotiation and influencing skills and experience in dealing with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of Emergency Management, including making technical decisions in live events
- Project management experience and certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2)
- Process improvement experience and certification (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma)
