Your new role
As part of the Finance and Business Services Group Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will report directly to the CFO. The Head of Supply Chain and Fleet is responsible for managing and improving end-to-end supply chain and fleet strategy and operations to support Ausgrid’s network maintenance and construction objectives. This role leads and manages critical parts of our business:
- Fleet Engineering and Strategy
- Fleet Maintenance
- Supply Chain Operations
- Quality Engineering
- Warehouse and Distribution
- ASP Material Sales
You will develop and execute operational plans and provide subsequent direction to all direct reports to deliver consistent fleet and material availability to customers as well as develop and execute supply chain and fleet strategies that appropriately balance service and availability with an optimal holding and operational cost.
- Oversee and implements the operational strategy, resourcing, safety and financial management of the organisation’s fleet
- Drive cost-effective and efficient fleet and plant specification, acquisition, disposal and replacement to ensure optimial performance, safety and customer satisfaction
- Develop and execute strategies for fleet electrification, with due consideration to balancing Ausgrid’s sustainability objectives with the business’ operational capability needs.
- Develop the competency and performance standard for Supply Chain & Fleet processes to create a centre of excellence, leading the changes required to move from the current state to defined standards.
- Develop and implement policy and process focused on good planning, inventory management, warehousing, distribution, data quality, stocktaking and cycle counting policy, valuation and scrapping.
- Develop and implement policy and process focused on fleet maintenance, cost management, safety, incident investigation, and garage operations to ensure efficiency and reduce fleet downtime.

- Significant experience in managing complex Supply Chain and Fleet operations.
- Proven experience in the recruitment, leadership and development of a team of supply chain and fleet professionals capable of delivering a shared vision and high standards of performance under the centre of excellence concept.
- Proven track record of developing and new processes and functional change, including necessary change management.
- Ability to confidently develop the skills of the team, aligning with Ausgrid values, and work to achieve a culture of high professional standards for their team and themselves.
- Manage the cost effectiveness of the Supply Chain & Fleet function to achieve budget requirements. Provide a commercially viable and competitive service to meet Ausgrid’s objectives.
- Deliver a unified and consistent standard of performance in stakeholder engagement.
- Balance a range of objectives around service and working capital investment. Identify poor practice, develop strong conceptual solutions on conjunction with peer group and by managing stakeholder relationships across the business, and ensure customers receive a consistency of service, sound process and efficiency of operations.
