Not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

We all want a future of energy we can be proud of. With us you can.

In this role, you’ll be hands-on delivering high-voltage (HV) testing services and providing trusted technical advice to AusNet and our external customers. You’ll play a key part in commissioning, condition assessment and diagnostic testing of primary electrical plant—helping ensure equipment is safe, reliable and ready for service.

You’ll be out in the field assisting the engineers conducting HV testing on a range of assets, including:

  • Power transformers
  • Cables
  • Generators and motors
  • Instrument transformers
  • Switchgear

Based at our Yarraville depot, you’ll be part of the HV Testing Technical Services team. The role involves regular travel across Victoria, with occasional interstate work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, site-based work and working closely with customers and technical teams.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Involved in day-to-day workload planning of testing team to ensure test equipment and personnel are used efficiently to maximise testing throughput and service levels.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving testing processes, procedures and methodologies and ensure they meet the requirements of various accreditations.
  • Strong focus in maintaining all HSEQ requirements for HV Testing team.
  • Identifying risks and assist in forming contingency plans.

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Associate Dipoloma in Electrical Engineering and related field testing experience is preferrable
  • Technical expertise on HV testing
  • Communication and collaboration skills across business, supplier and partners spread across a broad geography
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients
  • Safety leadership to support AusNet Services Mission Zero & HSEQ plan
  • Sharing learnings with your team and seeking opportunities to develop further in your role
  • You ask questions to identify and dig deeper into project roadblocks
  • Factory testing experience is advantageous
  • The AusNet experience is all about…

    • Building an energy future to be proud of: We’re a trusted leader, with deep expertise, driven to do what’s right for our communities and customers.

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We believe different perspectives are essential to our success, and we encourage all applicants to apply. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we're happy to discuss how we can support you.
