The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining and actively managing project and portfolio schedules in line with AusNet requirements and industry best practice.

The role sits within the Project Development Transmission Team and works closely with project managers, development leads and broader stakeholders across the regulated business. Supporting the successful development of projects, the Project Scheduler provides scheduling subject matter expertise, analyses and advises on schedule-related matters, and delivers strategic insights to support effective decision-making at both project and portfolio levels.

This position is based in Southbank with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in, 2 days from home).

What you’ll be doing in this role: 

  • Ensure appropriate project baselines are established with input from the delivery and design teams.
  • Assist Project Managers and Estimators develop project timelines for inclusion into the project scope of works.
  • Undertake progress updates, analyse delays and report schedule related issues.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare overall integrated program reports as required.
  • Provide support on schedule elements of tender evaluations.
  • In conjunction with the delivery stage scheduler, develop processes to report Earned Value Management metrics.
  • Work with internal and external technical teams to analyse schedule impacts for design scope change requests and manage change management requests, including schedule scenario development.

You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • A tertiary qualification in related field such as Engineering, Project Management or Quantity Surveying is preferred.
  • Proven experience in Scheduling in Infrastructure or Energy.
  • A high level of organisational skills and demonstrated effectiveness handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, managing timeframes and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Expert level competency of using scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 (Mandatory), and MS Projects (Mandatory).
  • Good proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Power BI, and risk analysis tools is advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of project management practices and techniques.
