We bring the energy!

Through purpose and people - not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

At AusNet, we’re connecting communities with reliable, affordable and sustainable energy — and we’re looking for a Network Assurance Specialist to help ensure our network is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

This is a highly visible, field-connected role where you’ll partner closely with internal teams and Delivery Partners to uplift capability, strengthen compliance, and embed a strong safety and quality culture across the network.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor across the business, combining technical expertise, assurance capability and stakeholder engagement to drive better outcomes.

  • Conduct field safety and quality audits, identifying risks, insights and practical improvement opportunities
  • Lead and support incident investigations and risk assessments, ensuring learnings translate into action
  • Provide expert advice on network construction, installation standards and operational practices
  • Partner with Delivery Partners and internal stakeholders to uplift capability and ensure compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, performance and commercial outcomes
  • Influence a culture of care, curiosity and accountability aligned to our Mission Zero commitment

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

You’re a practical, solutions-focused professional who can balance safety, risk and commercial outcomes in complex environments.

  • Trade qualification or significant (10+ years) experience in network, utilities or construction environments
  • Strong understanding of HSE, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience in auditing, inspections, or operational assurance
  • Proven ability to investigate incidents and drive corrective actions
  • Solid knowledge of network operations, construction standards or infrastructure delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder skills — able to influence contractors, leaders and cross-functional teams
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, data insights and practical problem solving

The AusNet experience is all about…

  • Growing your impact: We’ll support you to build your career through real opportunities and strong connections.
  • Solving some of the most complex energy challenges of our time: We love unpacking complex challenges in clever ways and looking at things differently.
  • Building an energy future to be proud of: We’re a trusted leader, with deep expertise, driven to do what’s right for our communities and customers.

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We believe different perspectives are essential to our success, and we encourage all applicants to apply. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we're happy to discuss how we can support you

At AusNet, we bring the energy! Ready to make your impact? Apply now!
