Help shape successful project outcomes through proactive risk management and commercial insight.

As a Risk & Contract Advisor – Infrastructure Projects, you will play a key role in strengthening risk management capability across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects valued between $700M and $1BN. Working closely with Project Managers and delivery teams, you will provide specialist expertise to identify, assess, quantify and manage contractual and commercial project risks, enabling more accurate forecasting, informed decision-making, and improved project certainty.

You will provide specialist advice in the development and maintenance of robust risk registers, undertake quantitative risk assessments, and provide practical advice on contractual, commercial, cost and schedule risks throughout the project lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Act as a trusted risk management advisor for major capital projects across the Transmission portfolio
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve project risk registers to support effective risk governance and contingency management
  • Ensure client-owned risks are identified, quantified, captured and maintained within project risk registers
  • Facilitate the development of robust cost and schedule contingency estimates to support investment decisions and project approval processes
  • Perform Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), including Monte Carlo simulations, to support contingency forecasting and investment decisions
  • Assess contractual, commercial, cost and schedule risks, providing clear recommendations and escalation pathways where required
  • Partner with project stakeholders to develop and monitor risk treatment plans that reduce exposure and improve delivery confidence
  • Analyse risk trends, emerging issues and portfolio-wide insights, providing regular reporting to project teams and senior leaders
  • Contribute to the ongoing uplift of risk management processes, tools and capability across the business

What we're looking for:

You don't need to meet every requirement to apply. If your experience aligns with many of the areas below, we'd love to hear from you:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field such as Engineering, Project Management or Quantity Surveying is preferred
  • Qualification or certification in project management/risk management would be highly regarded
  • Experience in risk management, quantity surveying, contract administration, commercial management, planning, or project controls within infrastructure, construction, utilities, energy or similar industries
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk identification, assessment and quantification methodologies
  • Experience applying quantitative risk modelling techniques, including Monte Carlo simulation and PERT analysis, and using risk software such as @Risk would be advantageous
  • Ability to interpret construction and infrastructure contracts and assess associated commercial and delivery risks
  • Sound understanding of project management principles, project controls, cost forecasting and contingency management
  • Experience reviewing delay, disruption or entitlement claims highly regarded
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Full Vehicle Drivers Licence required (occasional travel to project sites)

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to work across some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the portfolio, helping drive better project outcomes through data-driven risk management, commercial acumen and strategic stakeholder engagement.

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We believe different perspectives are essential to our success, and we encourage all applicants to apply. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we're happy to discuss how we can support you.
