We have an opportunity for a Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team.
As the Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of WRL, driving excellent environmental performance across construction and operational activities along the corridor. You will develop and implement strategies to satisfy environmental performance requirements, while supporting the delivery team and contractors to achieve regulatory compliance and drive best practice.
What You’ll be doing:
- Provide expert technical advice on assessing and mitigating environmental impacts, contributing to the development of planning and environmental management strategies, documents, and procedures.
- Review proposed design changes and provide advice about survey requirements, potential environmental impacts and approval risk
- Attend meetings with the Independent Environmental Auditor
- Undertake inspections and audits of contractors
- Develop strategies required by Environmental Performance Requirements and manage their implementation
- Provide expert environmental advice to construction contractors and AusNet’s WRL project team
- Support the development of strategies designed to avoid and minimise impacts with a focus on biodiversity impact reduction
- Review ecological reports and support the offset strategy by coordinating surveys and other due diligence assessments
- Prepare and review environmental content in presentations for regulators, Councils and other stakeholders
- Review contractors’ presentations and reports
- Prepare environmental reports and plans for the leadership team and client
