We bring the energy!

Through purpose and people - not just through the infrastructure we operate, but through the way we show up for each other, our customers’ and our communities. The future of energy is in our hands. Let’s shape it together.

Are you ready to strengthen how critical infrastructure is protected?

We have an opportunity for a Personnel Security Specialist to play a key role in lifting AusNet’s personnel security capability as part of our Security Uplift Project.

Reporting to the Security Risk and Assurance Advisor, this role is based in Melbourne’s CBD and sits within Security and Network Control, supporting our transmission, distribution and gas networks.

What you’ll help deliver

  • Design and embed personnel security plans, procedures and controls to protect AusNet’s people and assets
  • Identify and manage positions of trust and critical worker requirements in line with SOCI and PSPF obligations
  • Develop and implement a trusted insider threat mitigation program across employees and contractors
  • Partner with the business to uplift security awareness and embed sustainable, value‑focused security practices

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Demonstrated experience in personnel security and security risk management, ideally within critical infrastructure, government or regulated environments
  • Working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and critical worker requirements
  • Experience designing and implementing security frameworks, especially with a large contracted workforce
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, navigate change and work autonomously

The AusNet experience is all about…

  • Growing your impact: Real opportunities to shape new capability in a critical, emerging risk area
  • Solving complex challenges: Tackling security risks that genuinely matter to communities and customers
  • When life happens: Flexibility, trust and support when you need it most

We’re committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce. We believe different perspectives are essential to our success, and we encourage all applicants to apply. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we're happy to discuss how we can support you.

At AusNet, we bring the energy! Ready to make your impact? Apply now!
