What you will be delivering:
As our objective is to ensure that the 'lights' never turn off, neither does our network control room. Various shift options are available in a control room environment operating 24/7.
You will be trained and mentored, working under the guidance of our skilled team to become a competent Transmission Controller, working within our network control room managing the Electricity network grid from 66kV up to and including 500kV to keep it on! You will learn to become accountable for the delivery of safe and timely network access to support the delivery of works programs and resolution of fault restoration activities, manage and perform controlled switching functions for planned and unplanned events on the Network.
Key Duties you will be trained up for:
- Electricity monitoring, control and dispatch, understanding of AusNet Services' Electricity Transmission Network
- Minimising the impact of network outages (planned & unplanned) off supply, raising reliability, and maintaining network security
- You will be trained to effectively and efficiently use a variety of network management tools, controlling the transmission electricity network across Victoria
What we like about you:
- We are seeking highly motivated, confident, energetic people who are technically minded with a can-do attitude and a passion for team work and learning
- You're adaptable to change and enjoy learning new systems as we modernise and develop leading technological solutions
- You may currently be working in the electricity or related industry field (e.g. field/testing/protection) or you may currently be in an Operational role or with an Electrical Engineering background
- Experience within the transmission electricity network will place you in great stead
Additionally, you display:
- Ability to identify hazards, risks and suitable controls
- Ability to make quality decisions under pressure
- Superior attention to detail while undertaking multiple tasks in unison
- Superior communication skills
- Strong contributor to successful team work
