About the Role
The Assistant Project Development Manager plays a pivotal role in assisting the Project Development Managers on the delivery of AusNet Battery developments within the allocated budgets in a timely and effective manner.
The role involves supporting the coordination/management of multidisciplinary project teams consisting of internal and external resources, e.g., engineering, planning, commercial, etc.
The portfolio of assets includes investing large scale batteries, large transmission network augmentations and working closely with renewable generators to connect to the transmission network through dedicated connections.
The key to success in this role is to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects is complete in a timely and cost efficient manner.
This role will report to the Head of Energy Storage and is located at Southbank, Victoria.
We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver
- Assisting the PDM in the delivery of projects within the allocated budgets in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The role involves supporting the coordination/management of multidisciplinary project teams consisting of internal and external resources, e.g., engineering, planning, commercial, etc.
- Preparing project reports, creating and maintaining project schedules and tracking project costs and other financial metrics
- Managing relationships with relevant stakeholders, internal and external
- Management of contracts and contractors, requisitions, orders and invoices associated with assigned projects
- Development of required inputs for management papers and commercial negotiations as required
- Assist the Storage Division team on general matters as required
What we like about you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or associated discipline
- Experience in Project Development in an Infrastructure environment e.g. renewables, utilities or similar industry
- Experience in managing virtual teams including functions such as legal, finance, engineering consultants, etc.
- Experience in Management Consulting and/or Project Management on infrastructure projects
- Highly skilled in MS Excel and preferably MS Project or similar scheduling software
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong attention to detail and analytically minded
- Good interpersonal skills that enable communication and work with all levels of internal stakeholders and external customers / suppliers
