About the Role
As a Commissioning Technical Specialist at Ausnet, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning activities on various projects in alignment with AusNet Services standards. This crucial role ensures that our projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards while fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
This role will see you travel to various sites across Victoria so a full Australian Drivers License and Industry White Card are required.

This role will report to the Group Leader Commissioning and Construction and is located at Malvern, Victoria.
We are a flexible and truly hybrid workplace.
What you will deliver
- Ensure performance is in accordance with the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Customer Satisfaction (CSAT)
- Provide project engineering support activities to the Services Transmission and Distribution projects
- Auditing of Projects (HSEQ, Commissioning)
- Create Project and Outage Overviews prior/during Projects
- Able to respond to request for information (RFI)
- Work in with project manager and technical specialist construction for delivery partner variation claims as subject matter experts (SME)
- Ensure all commissioning activities are executed within the safety and environmental framework and a culture of continuous improvement is fostered in all areas of performance
- Monitor and review installation, pre-commissioning activities are undertaken by internal and external resources
- Ensure projects are closed out with no outstanding commissioning issues
- Attend project close out/lessons learnt meetings to gain from past experiences
What we like about you
- Demonstrated experience in practical testing and commissioning of HV Electrical Assets and leadership
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Advanced Diploma of ESI – Power systems
- Sound experience dealing with a variety of stakeholders and maintaining those business relationships
- Ability to read and understand Manufacturers Technical Manuals
- Technical experience in reviewing electrical drawings
- Demonstrated knowledge in using Doble F6000 test simulators and associated ProTest software
- Demonstrated knowledge of primary and secondary injection testing techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge with using relay manufacturers software and interfacing with IED’s
