We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Senior Engineer – Communications to help us lead the way.
As Senior Engineer - Communications, this role will see you providing specialised expertise to the Asset Management team in Transmission Communications Network.
This hybrid role (Office/WFH) is based in Southbank, Melbourne, and sits within our Transmission Asset Management team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Providing technical expertise associated with communications network from an asset management perspective including Fibre Cables, WDM, SDH/PDH, MPLS-TP, Tele-protection, Telephony, Radio, Microwave, Engineering LAN
- Providing expert input to asset management strategies and philosophies
- Providing expert input to comms equipment performance and technical specifications
- Providing expert input to the development of equipment standards
- Supporting the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives
- Supporting long term asset reliability and resilience plans and regulatory submissions
- Assessing and reviewing the condition of installed communications network assets
- Investigating and analysing communications equipment failures or problems, drafting reports etc.
You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Communications Engineering, or equivalent
- Demonstrated working experience in communications engineering or similar
- Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks and relevant standards
- Understanding of relevant Regulatory frameworks and legislation
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment
- In-depth knowledge of communications system components, equipment, and technologies, within the Utility industry
- Understanding of protection schemes supported by critical communications for transmission line and structure protection
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Professional body membership: National Engineering Registration
