The Portfolio Planning Lead provides a clear and integrated view of AusNet’s Transmission project and program portfolio across both pipeline and delivery stages. The role supports effective planning, prioritisation, and delivery by providing accurate portfolio insights and maintaining high-quality portfolio data.‑quality portfolio data.


Working closely with senior leaders and delivery teams, the role enables informed decision-making through clear portfolio reporting and analysis, and ensures portfolio information is consistent, reliable, and fit for purpose.‑making through clear portfolio reporting and analysis, and ensures portfolio information is consistent, reliable, and fit for purpose.

This role is based in Malvern and is part of the Transmission Development, Customer & Portfolio Team.

What you’ll be doing in this role:

  • Develop and maintain a medium to long term strategic portfolio plan covering cost, resources, timing, location and materials.
  • Build and maintain a visible, accurate pipeline of works across company and customer programs.
  • Engage, influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across Transmission line of business, other teams across the business and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the development, implementation and upkeep of pipeline monitoring tools, dashboards and data quality processes.

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Highly analytical with proven ability to extract insights from large and complex datasets and huge attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and communicate effectively (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated experience in project and portfolio management within a complex environment, with strong understanding of methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesise numerous inputs and present clear findings, insights and recommendations.
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in the utility sector and understanding of regulated businesses (preferred).
