Who we are

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

Our business is actively participating in the energy transition by delivering the natural gas needed today and advancing solutions for the future. Our Net Zero goal and emissions reduction targets outline our ongoing commitment to a sustainable energy future. We know that to deliver our net zero goal in a timely, affordable and reliable way for all customers, a diverse range of energy supply is needed. We will continue to work with customers and stakeholders to deliver and develop the energy infrastructure solutions essential to lowering emissions – including through natural gas, renewable gas and carbon capture and sequestration solutions.

About the opportunity

Are you a planning and scheduling-focused Maintenance Leader ready to shape how work is prepared and delivered across a critical transmission network?

Join our Transmission Operations team as Planning Superintendent, reporting to the Head of Planning and Operational Performance. In this pivotal role, you will manage a team while taking ownership of the planning and scheduling phase of our maintenance work management process. You will be responsible for ensuring work is effectively scoped, planned, prioritised, packaged and scheduled to support safe, reliable and efficient execution across our Transmission assets.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to take end-to-end ownership of the planning and scheduling phase of AGIG’s maintenance work management process, build team capability, and drive continuous improvement in how maintenance work is prepared and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and sustain a high-performance team of planners and schedulers through strong people leadership, clear expectations and visible role modelling.
  • Own the planning and scheduling phase of the work management process – from clear scope and work packs through to safe, realistic and achievable schedules.
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Stakeholders to align priorities, manage constraints and improve work readiness.
  • Use planning metrics, backlog health and schedule adherence to drive continuous improvement in planning and scheduling outcomes.
  • Support and embed new work management processes, helping stakeholders consistent and effective planning and scheduling practices.
  • Build strong relationships and act as a key point of contact for planning and scheduling within Transmission Operations.

About you

  • Proven leadership experience in maintenance planning, scheduling or work management within asset-intensive organisations.
  • Passionate about building high-performing teams, with a focus on coaching, setting clear expectations, customer satisfaction, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, including work packaging, backlog management and schedule optimisation, supported by CMMS experience.
  • Trade or technical background that enables credibility with operations and maintenance stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate at a tactical level, balancing priorities and maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Clear communicator, capable of influencing across functions and driving the uptake of maturing planning and scheduling processes.
