Who we are

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

Our business is actively participating in the energy transition by delivering the natural gas needed today and advancing solutions for the future. Our Net Zero goal and emissions reduction targets outline our ongoing commitment to a sustainable energy future. We know that to deliver our net zero goal in a timely, affordable and reliable way for all customers, a diverse range of energy supply is needed. We will continue to work with customers and stakeholders to deliver and develop the energy infrastructure solutions essential to lowering emissions – including through natural gas, renewable gas and carbon capture and sequestration solutions.

About the opportunity

Operations Facilities division. Playing a vital role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of AGIG’s transmission assets - including the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP), Tanami Gas Pipeline, and Australian Gas Network (AGN) pipelines. You’ll monitor, respond, and engage with landowners and contractors to ensure activities around our easements are performed safely.

Based at our Jandakot Facility, reporting to the Lands Superintendent. Regular travel away from home will be required. While most travel is scheduled in advance, there may be occasions where unplanned travel is required at short notice.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide surveillance and land management expertise across AGIG transmission assets.
  • Liaise with landowners, local authorities, and contractors to promote safety awareness.
  • Respond rapidly and professionally to easement-related emergencies, including availability for after-hours support.
  • Monitor easements via road and aerial patrols to detect and mitigate any threats to asset integrity.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for Third Party Crossings to ensure they’re carried out safely and per AGIG excavation procedures.
  • Conduct site activities with a strong focus on security, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Prioritise and complete scheduled work packs, escalating any risks or delays as needed.
  • Stay travel-ready for overnight trips or weekend surveillance duties as required.
  • Availability to travel both intrastate and interstate for planned and unplanned maintenance tasks is essential.

About you

  • Proven ability to manage landowner relations, including conflict resolution and de-escalation of difficult situations.
  • A solid understanding of civil works and how they relate to infrastructure.
  • Experience with asset management systems such as XINFO, LMS, GIS, and/or MAXIMO.
  • Skilled in collecting field data using GPS and photographic equipment, with strong attention to detail in reporting and record-keeping.
