About the opportunity

Australia Post is moving forward, and we want you to come along for the ride. We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Equipment Manager to join our Engineering team. This key role will provide leadership across safety, operational, and technical domains, ensuring our fleet processing plants and equipment remain top-tier and continue to deliver for Australians.

You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the strategy for equipment introduction, maintenance, and support, while driving innovation and excellence in the technical and operational aspects of our fleet.

What you’ll deliver with us

As an Equipment Manager, you will:

  • Lead the introduction and ongoing support of processing plant and equipment, ensuring alignment with legislative and risk tolerance requirements.
  • Define and maintain a robust maintenance plan, manage spares supply, address supportability and obsolescence risks.
  • Oversee third-party support agreements and manage their performance.
  • Collaborate across departments and with external partners to ensure continuous improvement in asset management.

You’ll also

  • Provide leadership during fault escalations, vendor fault-finding activities, and consultations with sites.
  • Support sites in making site-initiated changes to maintenance strategies and equipment.
  • Help drive a culture of safety, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

About you

You are a strategic thinker who thrives on problem-solving and working across a diverse, national team. Your experience in reliability engineering and asset management is complemented by your strong coaching and mentoring skills. You build continuous improvement cultures and can influence business decisions, particularly around technical domains and support agreements.

You’ll also need:

  • Professional Engineering qualifications in reliability, asset, and maintenance management or risk engineering.
  • Experience in contract administration and managing resources within a matrix management environment.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, including familiarly with lifecycle management and cyber security principles.
  • Familiarity with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Management, and project management frameworks.
