  • Join a collaborative team driving enterprise-wide transformation.
  • Join a business investing in technology, innovation and people.
  • Career growth opportunities within a leading Defence business.

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we're seeking an experienced IT Solutions Architect to join our expanding IT team. Reporting to the PM, Architecture and Engagement Team Leader, this is a highly influential role that sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology delivery, helping ensure our technology solutions enable and support the future needs of the organisation.

As a trusted advisor, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their challenges, identify technology opportunities and design solutions that deliver real business value. You'll play a key role in bridging the gap between business requirements and IT capability, developing solution architectures that are secure, scalable and aligned with Babcock's technology standards. With a mix of on-premises and cloud technologies, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across hybrid environments and solving complex business problems.

You'll contribute across the full solution lifecycle, from gathering and documenting requirements through to solution design, governance and implementation support. Working alongside Project Managers, Enterprise Architects and technical teams, you'll help shape project outcomes, provide technical leadership, contribute to business growth opportunities and ensure solutions are delivered in line with best practice, governance standards and business objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team where you'll have the chance to influence technology direction, work on diverse and complex initiatives, and contribute to meaningful projects that support critical operations across the business.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within a project-based technology and solution delivery environment.
  • Technical qualifications e.g. MCSE, CCNA.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within Defence or other high-risk, complex industries.
  • Experience delivering integrations with 3rd Party services e.g. Azure or AWS.
  • Experience working with platforms on Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, and Oracle Software.
  • Use of Architectural Toolset for design, process & lifecycle management.

Your future at Babcock – what we offer you

  • Our agile working policies offer more choice and autonomy. For you, this could mean flexible start and finish times, a mix of office and home working, or even condensed working weeks.
  • Our work life integration policy offers attractive leave entitlements including (not limited to) wellbeing leave, volunteer leave, paid parental leave, defence reservist leave, and we are proud to be a Work180 endorsed employer.
  • Babcock’s supportive and engaging environment, coupled with our capability framework, aims to advance your career with internal development programs, self-led learning modules through LinkedIn Learning and access to study leave.
  • Our beRewarded platform offers endless discounts across retail, health, entertainment, travel and much more, plus novated leasing options and corporate shares plan.
  • As a principles driven organisation, our weRecognise program aims to recognise the outstanding work our people do each and every day in line with our Principles which are Be kind, Collaborate, Be Curious, Think Outcomes, Be Courageous and Own & Deliver.
