About the role
Our Design team partners with the Royal New Zealand Navy to provide complete engineering, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the entire fleet. Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, this role will have you leading Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s) for the Design Department in a timely and efficient manner. You will be able to hold delegated authority and responsibility to check and approve (on behalf of the Design Authority, DA) designs and technical documentation within your area of expertise. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of documentation leaving the department is at the appropriate level
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading complex engineering change proposals within engineer’s area of expertise
Produce detailed design/production drawings.
Produce high quality engineering reports.
Conduct reviews and engage subject matter experts across the organisation to ensure the project delivers the right output.
Deliver outputs on time, flagging projects likely in breach of due date
Collaborate with the technical draftsman to produce electrical wiring diagrams to the need of the project.
Comply with all HSE policy, processes and procedures applicable to operations as well as statutory HSE legislation, regulations and codes of best practice
As an experienced Engineer, you have worked in a multi-disciplinary design office and have experience in the use of design standards and quality systems to achieve compliant engineering designs. You have demonstrated knowledge of electrical power systems / electronics system or communication systems and are proficient in requirements development and analysis.
