About the Role

We're seeking an Electronic Engineer to join our team on the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) contract. This program sees Babcock oversee the operation and support of the existing DHFCS capability while executing a comprehensive technology upgrade.

As an Electronic Engineer in this position, your responsibilities will include generating specifications and design documents, overseeing implementation, and ensuring the successful introduction of electrical and electronic-based assets, systems, and equipment throughout the program.

You'll apply a systematic approach encompassing needs analysis, problem definition, requirements analysis, and definition, as well as systems design and verification/validation of solutions.

Additionally, you'll collaborate with drafters to develop CAD models and design documentation, which will assist in the assembly and operation of the broader system. Furthermore, you will engage with suppliers to facilitate the development of necessary hardware and cabling.

What will you bring

  • Degree qualified electronics / mechatronics engineer preferably with, or working towards chartered professional engineer (CPEng) status and relevant experience.
  • Systems engineering experience with a background in either Defence / Defence Industry.
  • Proven technical management skills.
  • Working experience / strong Interest in Internet of Things (IoT) or RF & HF communications.
  • Australian Citizen with a current Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain.
