About the role
Babcock is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team and support the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of supplier invoices and payments.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable function, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, payment runs, and resolving queries. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure strong financial governance and smooth operational delivery.

About you

You are a detail‑focused finance professional who enjoys structure, problem‑solving, and working collaboratively. You bring experience in accounts payable and are confident managing deadlines, maintaining data accuracy, and communicating clearly with suppliers and internal teams.

You value integrity, continuous improvement, and delivering high‑quality work even during demanding periods. You’re comfortable working independently while contributing positively to team culture.


To be successful in this position you will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounts payable role
  • Intermediate Excel capability
  • Experience with electronic accounting systems and MS Office
  • Experience with IFS, Sage, or Pagero (highly desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Resilience under pressure and during peak periods
  • Pride in delivering high‑quality work
  • Maintain and update Supplier Masterfile data
