About the project
The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) has been a part of Australian defence landscape for many decades and comprises three Over-The-Horizon-Radar (OTHR) systems to provide surveillance coverage of our northern border. BAE Systems has been awarded the contract to manage the upgrade of this 100 percent Australian solution that is strategically important to Australia's security.

About the Opportunity
The JORN Remote Site Manager is responsible for ensuring that the technical (encompassing Product Safety), cost and schedule goals associated with assigned projects are achieved in accordance with the contractual and company requirements, in order to deliver required business performance.
In more specific terms you will:
- Be responsible for operational leadership of three Remote Radar sites located near Laverton WA, Longreach QLD and Alice Springs NT.
- Provide safety leadership for all Remote Site Staff.
- Be responsible for setting policy in relation to JORN Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) operations.
- Be responsible for ensuring all JORN Remote Site maintenance scope is conducted in accordance with the contract and the approved Maintenance Management Plan.
- Manage Customer relationships with key Wide Area and Space Surveillance Systems Program Office (WASS SPO) stakeholders.
- Act as Sustainment Integration Lead for acquisition to assist Remote Sites to plan and execute integration activities whilst maintaining effective site management.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain to a minimum of NV1.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- Ability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to shape and implement business requirements.
- Demonstrated relevant experience in Project Management within an engineering organisation.
- Strong people management skills and experience.
- Degree qualified in Project Management or similar.
- Excellent leadership and managerial capabilities.
- Previous experience in FIFO policies and procedures.
- The ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders, in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships.
