Your new role:
As the Nulka Operations Manager you will oversee all projects across Development, Acquisition & Sustainment. You will act as the glue to drive the performance of projects and collaboration of departments, binding together to achieve a cohesive and successful program.
Nulka Program is a complex portfolio of projects & is Australia's largest regular defence export program and pre-planned product improvement activities. You will be help to protect Australian and US surface warships.
In more specific terms you will:
- Oversight of a portfolio of several projects of various size and complexity simultaneously. You will be required to succinctly collate and report status for each
- Direct line management responsibilities for 6/7 employees, and indirect responsibility for 150 employees across multiple sites including professionals and other managers.
- Lead, direct plan, monitor and control all aspects of Financial Management, Project Control, Risk / Opportunity Management and Business Improvement across base Program, exclusive of business opportunities.
- Overall responsibility for Product development, and Product Management, across all Nulka program products.
- Develop and prosecute business opportunities within the Program, in line with the strategic objectives of the Customer, Program, and the business.
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Successfully planned, executed and delivered large scale complex projects whilst actively managing customer relationships, risk and opportunity
- Delivery or Commercial experience with an IT or Engineering background to help support technical elements of the projects
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills enabling successful delivery and collaboration across the project team and stakeholder community
- Exposure to managing projects using Earned Value Management methodologies
- A formal qualification in project management or working towards will be highly regarded
- Defence security clearance Negative Vetting 1
