Your new role:
Reporting to the Head of Category Management & Procurement Shares Services, this role is accountable for the delivery of category strategies that cover enterprise spend, specialising in raw materials, soft and hard metal machining and metal fabrication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, manage and develop team members to deliver the required capability to meet the needs of the business
- Prepare, deliver and actively manage category strategies supporting the organisation to deliver the optimal value for money across managed spend
- Responsible for the overall development, implementation & growth of strategies through knowledge of domestic and international supply markets, trends and spend analysis for designated categories
- Build and promote “best practice” processes and sourcing across the business for designated category, including coordinating training, managing & mentoring
- Develop, manage and assess procurement plans & sourcing strategies, ensuring that they align with category objectives
- Manage procurement engagement activities including, but not limited to, expressions of interest, requests for information, requests for quotation, requests for proposal, requests for tender, supplier negotiations and contract development and execution
- Manage category/enterprise level supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements in accordance with procedures
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Significant Procurement/Supply Chain experience specialising in raw materials, soft and hard metal machining and metal fabrication
- Previous experience working within Defence, heavy manufacturing or related industries
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Commerce, Law or Business Management highly desirable
- Exceptional ability to collaborate and influence key stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to motivate and lead individuals and teams across a number of business areas to shape and implement business requirements
