Your new role:
BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to deliver nine of the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.
As the Bill of Materials (BoM) Integration Manager you will be responsible for providing leadership for the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) BoM Integration team. You will act as the local subject matter expert and be responsible for establishing robust quality controls from Engineering onto both the HCFP Supply Chain and Manufacturing Planning teams.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Provide leadership for BoM Integration team based in Australia, working closely with UK based team to deliver scope to agreed schedule
- Provide people management for Australian based team (and deputise for UK based team), including team recruitment activities, personal development and task prioritisation
- Transfer Knowledge and Capability from the UK to the Australian based team through co-development of a knowledge transfer management plan
- Provide training support and development of personnel to ensure the iBOM is maintained through the engineering and production lifecycle
- Carry out engineering and project management based activities to support scope delivery, including supporting Control Account Management (CAM)
- Lead and develop complex BoM analyses and investigations, with a strong focus on data quality, presenting metrics and managing follow-on actions
- Identify and deploy enhancements in collaborations with PLM and IM&T teams to ensure toolset functionality effectively delivers the requirements
About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant subject, e.g. supply chain, materials management or engineering/ technical, or relevant industry experience in lieu
- Demonstrated understanding of complex Bills of Material (BoMs) and experience in Supply Chain Management Techniques
- Team leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop and inspire a technical team
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with people at all levels (verbal and written skills)
- Expert skills in the use of PTC Windchill, Aveva ERM or equivalent tools and MS Office packages

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
