We currently have a new opportunity as Configuration Controller within our Battlespace Integrated Solutions based in Adelaide (Edinburgh Parks).
About the OPPORTUNITY:
The Configuration Controller in the JORN project team will be responsible for the day-to-day Configuration Management (CM) tasks, including managing data, parts, and documents in soft and hardcopy using Company and/or JORN specific systems and processes. This includes registering, storing, and updating, retrieving and issuing project information using the nominated CM System.
Reporting to the CM and DM Lead you will:
- Monitor the change control process, and assist in processing Engineering Changes and affected configuration documentation
- Check CM data / metadata in the CM system for accuracy, currency and completeness, and that documentation / data is categorised and organised correctly
- Update the Product Breakdown Structure in the CM system and ensure approved documentation, including engineering drawings, is linked to the correct part in the Product Breakdown Structure
- Receive and process data deliverables from Suppliers and Subcontractors
- Assist to prepare and deliver CM data deliverables to the customer
- Assist to prepare and deliver CM data to external suppliers and manufacturers
- Produce Configuration Status Accounting Reports; Master Record Indexes; Build State Declarations, material for project review activities (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.) and similar
- Provides guidance on document numbering, formatting and file naming conventions
- Assist with testing of any new functionality introduced into the CM support system
- Ensure data and documentation related to a Product is captured in the CM System and that the approval status of the data and documentation is correct
- Protect and handle classified information under Configuration Control in accordance with Company and Defence security requirements
- Assist in identifying problems related to Data & Documentation Control procedures or systems, and liaise with other groups / teams for resolution
- Assist with response to actions from the Configuration Control Board
- Assists in CM Audits and Quality Audits of CM
- Liaises with and assists the JORN CM and DM Lead and/or Senior Configuration Controller to contribute to CM practice and standardisation as requested
About you:
As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Working experience in an engineering environment in a CM or Data Management (DM) role is desirable.
- An engineering / technical role involving a project, preferably defence or similar is desirable
- Some exposure to recognised CM tools and associated databases is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in DM or CM procedures, with a sound understanding of CM basics is desirable
- Good skills in use of standard Office software applications
