About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant within our Aerospace Business unit based in Newcastle or Adelaide.
As the Project Accountant, you will support the Project and Finance Manager in maintaining the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary by the specified deadlines on forecasts, budget and cash flow to the project team, central finance group and corporate staff.
- Complete compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation
- Improve processes used to calculate accurate, timely and efficient reporting of the financial results for the project (e.g. streamline month-end process)
- Collaborate with the project controls group on job ledger issues
- Prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments
- Manage the accruals process prepare and review reconciliation process between job and general ledger
About YOU
You'll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Business
- Membership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (Chartered Accountant), CPA Australia or CA (or working towards)
- Demonstrated management accountant/project accounting experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders
