About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Maritime Sustainment Unit based at Osborne SA, reporting to the Design for Production Lead based in WA.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
As the SA based representative of the Manufacturing Engineering team that is responsible for the delivery of the mast block on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (build of mast block will be in Henderson, WA), you will be responsible for providing guidance on strategy and task allocation to support the production and logistics of the block from WA to SA.
Key responsibilities include:

• Liaise with and influence key stakeholders and departments to support the effective and efficient delivery of the mast block to the Hunter Class Frigate in SA
• Act as the interface between production and engineering disciplines to develop build and transportation strategies to suit the WA and SA sites
• Support Henderson Manufacturing Engineering and Production with the incorporation of new technologies/best practices.

About YOU

• You are a ‘self-starter' who is able to confidently make independent judgements and decisions that will enable you to proactively progress assigned tasks.

• You can demonstrate significant experience in a production engineering capacity/engineering discipline that has exposed you to extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of the manufacturing process.

• You are able to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas to shape and implement business requirements

• You can negotiate with, and influence, internal and/or external stakeholders to generate business benefit while maintaining key relationships

• This position will require travel to WA
