About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for an Export Control Practitioner to join our Export Controls Function. As a member of the Export Controls team, you will support the cross-business focus on export control matters by providing complex advice and guidance on Export Control Regulations, and Company Policies and Procedures.
This role will be based out of either our Osborne Shipyard office in South Australia, Garden Island office in Sydney or our Bourke St office in Victoria.
You will be responsible for applying and implementing Export Control (EC) compliance obligations to support Business activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing subject matter expertise, including day-to-day advice and guidance on export control regulatory and procedure requirements
- Assist with the delivery of training to cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring an acceptable standard of knowledge and awareness is present across the business
- Providing direction, guidance and mentorship to export control officers within the Operational team and support their development
- Assisting with risk and opportunity management using formal business methodologies and establish risk mitigation plans and reviews
- Providing specialist expertise in the audit and assurance process ensuring that the compliance controls are being adhered to across the business
- Identifying areas for improvement within the Export Control function and wider business and support reviews of ways of working across the Operational team
- Working with the Programs to identify licencing requirements and assist with applications for, and the drafting of, export authorisations
