About the role

As a Treatment Operator, you will work in a fast-paced setting, in a key role that will underpin our commitment for safe, secure and affordable water services across our region in line with our Strategy 2030.
Treatment Operators provide a vital function across the Barwon Water Group and you will thrive being exposed to and experiencing some of our most complex water systems. You’ll play a key role working in the team, ensuring success of assets such as the Colac Water Reclamation Plant. On top of plant operations, routine inspections and critical maintenance, there are opportunities to innovate and improve our services to our customers and the local community.
You’ll be responsible for efficient and effective treatment operations of drinking water and wastewater treatment processes including filtration, disinfection and biological treatment by undertaking monitoring, optimisation and maintenance activities.
About you
You’re a safety champion, motivated, team player and able to work systematically whilst proactively identifying problems and developing innovative solutions, with a real drive for continuous improvement.
With excellent communication skills, you enjoy a collaborative and supportive environment as you build strong relationships, contributing to the overall team goal and to be able to represent Barwon Water in the community.
Your certifications in Water Industry Operations will be applied and combine with you water industry experience. The role will require you to be part of an on-call roster where you may be required to work outside standard work hours to respond to out of hours operational events.
A pre-employment medical, including health, drug and alcohol assessment is required for this position and part of our selection process.
As large component of this field-based role requires vehicle travel across Barwon Water facilities, a current Victorian driver’s licence will be required.
