BAS Electrician (Southwest)

  • Work close to home in the stunning South West Coast
  • Flexible, supportive and inclusive workplace, career development in place
  • Make a real impact in the communities you live in

Can you imagine starting your day with coastal views, fresh air and a strong sense of community? Are you looking for a role that offers meaningful work, flexibility and support - without sacrificing career progression?

If you enjoy practical work, problem solving and being part of a supportive team that looks out for one another then read on...

About the role

At Barwon Asset Solutions, we're proud to be growing a diverse electrical maintenance team across the South West. Your work directly supports essential services for local communities, helping ensure safe and reliable water services every day.

You’ll work as part of our electrical maintenance team, taking responsibility for service outcomes that deliver high levels of customer satisfaction across the region.

Based out of our Colac depot, you’ll perform electrical maintenance and fault-finding activities on a variety of water infrastructure and assets, including treatment plants and pump stations. Working collaboratively with the Operational Technology team, you may provide support for SCADA and PLC technology faults.

As this role is based across the region, a valid drivers license is required. Successful applicants will undertake a pre-employment medical and be willing to participate in an on-call roster and occasional overtime, with support and flexibility provided.

About you

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving and working in a supportive, team-based environment. Your curious nature and willingness to learn will see you grow in the role, challenging your experience across industrial, commercial or domestic sectors.

You are safety-focused, motivated and comfortable following established procedures while also identifying opportunities for improvement. You take pride in your work, approach challenges with a positive mindset and enjoy learning new skills and technologies.

You don’t need to “fit a mould” - we value people who bring different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking. If you’re an A-Grade Electrician who can read schematic drawings and enjoys working collaboratively, we’d love to hear from you.

About us

Barwon Asset Solutions provides high quality, smart, asset maintenance and project management services to Barwon Water, its customers and the community, along with other public and private organisations.

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, BAS supports Barwon Water’s mission to provide efficient water and sewerage services in an environmentally responsible manner.

BAS and Barwon Water are proud to be building a safe, diverse and inclusive workforce and in ‘going the extra mile’ to create opportunities for people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

We care about where we live and work, and we are always looking for like-minded people to join our team.

Why join us?

At the Barwon Water Group, we believe that every individual has something valuable to offer.  We understand that the more diverse workforce, the wider the variety of ideas we bring to the table.  Enjoy being part of an organisation that values results, personal and professional growth, workplace diversity and a balance between work and life commitments. Candidates seeking flexible work arrangements are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our work requires more than just engineering and scientific solutions. We’re learning from the tens of thousands of years of knowledge and insight from Traditional Custodians. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply for this position.
