Coastal Treatment Coordinator

About the role

  • Leadership role with innovation focus
  • Community values centric organisation
  • Flexible and supportive work options

Are you a leader looking to take on the next step in your water career? If you’re motivated to make a significant impact on your community and the environment in your next role, read on…

The Coastal Treatment Coordinator, based across our stunning Coastal region (Anglesea to Apollo Bay), is a pivotal role within our Treatment Leadership team. As a trusted and visible leader, you’ll provide operational direction to a multidisciplinary team responsible for maintaining compliance and performance across Coastal Plants and critical assets that safeguard safe drinking water and a secure water future for the region.

This role sits at the heart of our commitment to delivering a healthier environment while ensuring value and affordability, aligned with our Strategy 2030. You’ll apply best practice and leverage your expertise in process optimisation and treatment system performance to drive continuous improvement and lead strategic projects.

Through strong, people-focused leadership, you’ll empower a team of experienced and high-performing operators who thrive on solving complex challenges and delivering innovative solutions. Your leadership will not only ensure operational excellence today, but also build capability, confidence and career growth for the team into the future.

About you

You’re an experienced people leader who knows how to bring out the best in others while maintaining high operational standards. You foster a safe, inclusive and high-performing culture, thrive on challenge and lead with authenticity, accountability and care.

Highly technical and naturally curious, you bring an innovative mindset to problem solving and a steadfast commitment to safety-first decision making.

Your communication style builds trust and influence, enabling you to engage effectively across teams and functions. You’re comfortable leading change, translating complexity into clarity and aligning people around shared outcomes. Supported by Barwon Water, you’ll continue to grow your leadership capability while shaping a career that has long-term impact.

Your tertiary qualifications in engineering or science, combined with your leadership capability, equip you to operate confidently in a fast-paced environment-where collaboration, support and teamwork are central to success.

Our work requires more than just engineering and scientific solutions. We’re learning from the tens of thousands of years of knowledge and insight from Traditional Custodians. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply for this position.
