About the role
In this impactful role you’ll provide specialist environmental support across capital works and infrastructure projects, working closely with project teams from early asset planning through to construction and completion. Taking a lead role in the environmental management of projects, to ensure environmental risks, impacts and compliance obligations are effectively identified, assessed and managed throughout delivery.
You’ll be responsible for coordinating environmental and planning approvals, preparing environmental management plans, and providing practical, site-based environmental advice to project managers and contractors. This includes undertaking environmental risk assessments, conducting site inspections and audits, managing non-conformances and incidents, and recommending corrective actions to support strong environmental outcomes.
Working collaboratively with environmental planners, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental systems, tools and procedures.
About you
You bring strong knowledge of flora and fauna assessment and management, with experience applying environmental assessment and mitigation measures in infrastructure environments. You communicate with clarity, able to provide practical context to those with less technical understanding.
You may have experience working in the water sector or a closely related infrastructure setting, with a sound understanding of statutory approvals, environmental compliance and project delivery processes. You are comfortable navigating regulatory requirements and supporting projects through planning, approval and construction phases.
You'll work with a range of stakeholders, building strong relationships through clear communication and collaboration. You hold a relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, ecology, botany, environmental planning or a related discipline, and you bring a proactive, accountable and solutions-focused approach to your work.
