About The Role
At BASF we are entering an exciting time within our Agriculture business with an existing portfolio of world class products and a pipeline of new products that will bring significant benefits to the agriculture industry.
As a Breeding Agronomist, you will enjoy a varied role conducting field trials and plant breeding experiments. You'll be responsible for planning and executing field trials, inclusive of trial site management, data collection and communication with our colleagues.
How You Will Do It
- Establish and maintain field trials to produce data and seed, maintain all breeding records, update breeding database with trial and seed production results.
- Responsible in all aspects of the field program; locating and contracting land, land preparation and all in-season agronomy, following trial protocol and implementing treatments, harvest of trial and shipping of seed.
- Collaborate with breeders in the conduct of experiments and seed productions in growth chambers at Longerenong.
- Manage the supply of all key inputs (land, pollinators, contractors, materials) to ensure an efficient and reliable supply is maintained.
- Be field-based and hands on to ensure operations & activities are on time and to budget.
- Ensure all operations satisfy safety, regulatory, stewardship and compliance requirements.
