Throughout my career, BASF has provided exceptional flexibility. As a working parent, it can be incredibly challenging to balance the demands of my job with the needs of my family. However, the company has gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs. From flexible work hours to remote work options, BASF truly understands the importance of supporting working parents.

BASF was announced the winner of Chemistry Australia’s inaugural Diversity, Equity and Inclusion award 2024, for its Diversity and Inclusion council, namely its Women in Business group.

Winning this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the BASF team in creating a workplace where everyone feels respected and valued. At BASF, we believe in diversity and inclusion as core values that drive our success. The Women in Business group, as part of our Diversity and Inclusion council, has been instrumental in promoting inclusive leadership and setting goals to improve gender balance. Through initiatives such as proactive hiring and role redesign, we've successfully increased the number of women in leadership roles to 35%, and we are actively taking steps toward closing our gender pay gap.

In addition to these efforts, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all individuals. Our focus on women's health and well-being has led us to provide essential menstrual products, including sanitary pads and tampons, in our women’s restrooms. This initiative ensures that women have access to necessary hygiene products, promoting comfort and dignity during their menstrual cycles. By addressing this important need, we aim to foster a workplace culture that empowers women and breaks the stigma surrounding menstruation.

Moreover, our commitment doesn't stop there. We're also actively working on reconciliation with our First Nations peoples, supporting the LGBTIQ+ community, and prioritizing mental health in the workplace. These initiatives reflect our broader mission to create a diverse and inclusive environment that celebrates various identities and backgrounds, ensuring that every employee feels valued and supported. By implementing these comprehensive strategies, BASF not only enhances the workplace experience for its employees but also strengthens its overall organizational culture, driving both employee satisfaction and business success.
