You'll report to the Account Manager and work closely with client and BGIS teams on compliance, audits, emergency management, and continuous improvement across sites.

This is a very client-facing role. You'll spend a lot of time with a busy, engaged client and with stakeholders at every level, so you'll enjoy building relationships and talking with people from all parts of the business.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, personable, and sociable, with excellent communication skills. You're highly organised and proactive, and you're comfortable spending time out on site as well as in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve WHS and environmental management systems in line with statutory, contractual, and ISO requirements.
  • Coordinate internal, external, and annual third-party audits, including escorting and reporting.
  • Manage the client Emergency Management Plan, including scheduling, vendors, and training.
  • Carry out at least five site inspections each month.
  • Keep the Risk Register and Vendor Handbook current.
  • Record hazards in the Incident Management System and investigate incidents.
  • Coordinate site access, including key issuing and client and BGIS induction platforms.
  • Prepare WHSE reporting, including LTIFR and MTIFR performance.
  • Develop and deliver WHSE training and give technical support to site teams.
  • Contribute WHSE input to tenders, proposals, and contract transitions.
  • Build strong relationships with client representatives, contractors, and colleagues.

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • 5+ years' experience in a WHS supervisor or manager role (all levels encouraged to apply).
  • 5+ years' experience in construction, property, or facilities management (all levels encouraged to apply).
  • Experience conducting WHS audits.
  • Knowledge of WHS and environmental management system standards (AS/NZS 4801 / ISO 45001 and ISO 14001).
  • Certificate IV in WHS (or OH&S) Management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with good time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms.
  • Current Driver's Licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Diploma in WHS Management or a related higher qualification.
  • WHS auditor training.
  • 2+ years' experience in an environmental supervisor or manager role.
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure environments.

Workplace Flexibility

This position is based at our World Square office in Sydney CBD, close to public transport and local amenities. You'll also visit Western Sydney sites regularly and travel to regional sites from time to time. The arrangement is four days across the office and sites, plus one day working from home.
