About BGIS
BGIS is a global provider of integrated facilities management, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to clients across various industries. We pride ourselves on our collaborative and inclusive culture, and on maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and service.
Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to look after the day-to-day facilities operations of a major justice precinct in the Sydney CBD. You'll be embedded on-site with the client, supported by your BGIS manager and working with client representatives every day to keep the building safe, compliant and running smoothly.
This is a highly client-facing role with regular contact at a senior level, including members of the judiciary and court registry staff. Your poise, clear communication and professional presence will matter as much as your technical knowledge. You'll work closely with your BGIS manager, who is also based on site, with the support of the wider BGIS business behind you. The role offers daily engagement with a broad range of client stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has a trade background and is comfortable with technology. You'll be the on-site expert who explains things clearly, and who helps your manager get the most from the digital systems we use. You're warm, composed and a natural communicator, and you enjoy building trusted relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after the delivery of the Services Agreement, making sure contractual KPIs are consistently met.
- Plan and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance using the CMMS, keeping data and reports accurate.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, including scopes of work, documentation, WHS compliance and assessment of completed works.
- Manage contract financial performance, including budgets, invoice review, cost management and timely supplier payments.
- Prepare and obtain approvals for variations and additional works.
- Build positive, trusted relationships with client representatives, tenants and stakeholders at all levels.
- Prepare monthly reports and run client meetings, including agendas and minutes.
- Review maintenance activities for value for money and whole of life outcomes.
- Support WHS, quality, environmental and sustainability requirements across all activities.
- Suggest practical improvements and new ways of working with the client.
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Trade qualification (Mechanical or Electrical) and post-trade qualification (Engineering Certificate or Associate Diploma).
- Experience delivering integrated facilities, property or maintenance services.
- Experience managing large-scale maintenance programs and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements for maintenance activities.
- Sound financial and commercial understanding, including budgeting and cost management.
- Experience working within QA, WHS and environmental systems.
- Comfortable with digital systems, with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and CMMS platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the poise to engage with senior client stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Qualification or experience in Facilities Management.
- Experience with collaborative, relationship or alliance contracting.
- Estimating and whole of life cost experience.
- Environmental, ESD or energy management experience.
- Experience in justice, government or other high-profile client environments.

This is a full time, permanent position based 100% on-site at the client's Sydney CBD location, close to public transport, cafés and local amenities.
