Gardner/ Horticulturist

BGIS is experiencing strong company growth and requires a Gardner/ Horticulturist to join our existing team based in Berwick.

The Role
As a Gardner/Horticulturist, you will be responsible for overseeing all preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as well as handling repairs for various general maintenance services at the Casey Hospital, which encompasses Grounds and gardens.

Responsibilities:

  • General building repairs and trade assistance
  • General landscaping and garden maintenance.
  • Performing daily horticulture tasks.
  • Undertake a wide variety of landscaping activities around the facility.
  • Oversee and carry out garden and general Maintenance repairs and maintenance within the Facility
  • Grounds & Gardens (including mowing, weeding etc.)
  • External Cleaning and rubbish collection
  • Minor repairs and installations including doors, walls and furniture etc
  • Conduct periodic maintenance inspections of services, plant and equipment

Skills/Experience:

  • At least 2 years experience working in a responsible Garden, Horticulturist or General Maintenance Services role within a hospital or commercial environment
  • Experience in a facilities or building management environment
  • Extensive experience working in a team environment
  • Positive/can-do attitude
