Portfolio Accountant

BGIS is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join our organisation, supporting strong financial governance and delivering high-quality financial services across client portfolios.
The Role
You will act as the primary finance contact for assigned client portfolios, ensuring accurate financial management in line with contract requirements, BGIS standards, and accounting regulations. You will be responsible for managing financial reporting and analysis across a portfolio of assets, ensuring accuracy in financial statements, tracking portfolio performance, and providing insights to optimise financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the finance point of contact for BGIS and clients
- Deliver monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end close
- Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable deliverables, working with Finance Shared Services teams
- Maintain financial controls, compliance, and audit support
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and support ad hoc finance projects
- Prepare and analyse financial reports for multiple properties within the portfolio
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in accounting practices
Requirements and skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, or finance.
- 3-4 years of proven experience in Corporate real estate, Property management accounting, or integrated.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- A high level of demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- CA or CPA designation or one that is in progress is preferred.
