Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced General Manager – Facilities Management to oversee the delivery of facilities management services for a newly awarded Victorian government contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring services are delivered safely, consistently and in line with contractual requirements across a large, multi-site portfolio.
Reporting to senior contract leadership, you will work closely with BGIS teams and government stakeholders to coordinate operational delivery, support service consistency, and foster a positive, customer-focused culture. The role combines strategic oversight with practical operational guidance, ensuring that performance, compliance and service quality remain strong across all locations.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of all Facilities Management services in line with the Statement of Requirement
- Support consistent, safe and compliant delivery of planned, reactive and corrective maintenance services
- Coordinate operational planning and resourcing across a state-wide FM workforce
- Ensure FM teams understand and meet service obligations, KPIs and Minimum Service Levels
- Monitor performance through dashboards and reporting, supporting timely issue resolution where required
- Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure safety, quality and contractual standards are met
- Maintain strong working relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders
- Ensure accurate, complete and timely data is maintained within BGIS systems
- Encourage continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and customer experience
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Extensive experience managing Facilities Management operations across large or multi-site environments
- Strong understanding of FM service delivery, compliance and performance frameworks
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and subcontractor networks
- Confidence working with digital FM systems and performance reporting tools
- Clear, inclusive communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Ability to balance operational priorities with longer-term improvement initiatives
Desirable:
- Experience working within government or similarly regulated environments
- Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Power Automate
- Experience contributing to service improvement or operational uplift programs
Workplace Flexibility
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with 3 days in the Melbourne CBD office and 2 days working from home. Core business hours apply, with flexibility around start and finish times. Occasional site visits across the CBD may be required, along with ad hoc additional hours during peak operational periods.
