Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Business Support Manager to lead strategic asset maintenance, compliance and business support across a national aviation portfolio. Based in Brisbane, you will work closely with the Account Manager, Facilities Managers, and internal teams to ensure contractual performance, financial governance and operational excellence are consistently delivered across multiple sites.
This role plays a critical leadership and coordination function, balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational support. You will act as a key connector between BGIS and the client, driving strong relationships, proactive risk management and continuous improvement initiatives - particularly those that support sustainability, cost efficiency, and service performance.
The ideal candidate is collaborative, highly organised, solutions-focused and comfortable leading through influence. You will be confident working in a fast-paced, high-stakes aviation environment and skilled at engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic asset maintenance management, along with fire and building compliance across a national portfolio
- Manage end-to-end minor and major works (including CAPEX and registers)
- Maintain and update risk registers and proactively reduce exposure to abatement costs
- Support operations teams with contract initiatives, performance actions, and reporting
- Partner closely with Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Act as 2IC to the Account Manager when required and provide national support as needed
- Manage day-to-day FM requirements at the Brisbane HQ site
- Lead supplier management, vendor forums, and performance reviews
- Oversee national Fire Life Safety obligations, including legislative reviews and emergency procedures
- Provide detailed input into monthly contract reporting and performance analysis
- Lead, mentor, and support two direct reports, fostering a positive and accountable team culture
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
Education, Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior business support, facilities, property, or corporate real estate role
- Proven ability to manage integrated facilities, projects, and financial performance
- Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting
- Solid understanding of building compliance, technical legislation, and asset lifecycle management
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills
- Tertiary qualification in Property, Business, Engineering, Commerce, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Desirable:
- Experience managing multi-site portfolios or large-scale asset programs
- Strong technical background in facilities or building services
- Knowledge of QA, OH&S, and environmental compliance frameworks
- Industry certifications in Facilities or Asset Management
Workplace Flexibility
This is a full-time, fixed-term role based in our Brisbane CBD office, with an expectation of five days per week on-site attendance. The office is centrally located near public transport and local amenities.
Regular national travel may be required to support operations across the portfolio.

Eligibility
To be successful in this role, applicants must have full working rights in Australia. A police check and pre-employment medical will be required.
Applicants with ASIC clearance and prior aviation industry experience will be viewed favourably.
